The International School of Kigali (ISK) is an internationally accredited, non-profit and non-governmental school located in Kigali, Rwanda. Established in 2009 by parents from Dutch and American communities, we were founded to provide an inclusive, Western-style, non-denominational education of the highest standards.
We welcome all students regardless of background, ability, or identity.
Developing intercultural competencies for an interconnected world.
We prioritize diversity, welcoming all students to develop as intrinsic learners with intercultural competencies in our culturally diverse environment.
An inclusive school that cultivates student curiosity, compassion, and engagement with their local and global community.
Through collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking, ISK will teach students the value of diversity while they are engaged in meaningful change both locally and globally.
Our educational approach is built on four foundational pillars that guide everything we do.
Working together across cultures and perspectives to achieve shared goals and build community.
Expressing ideas clearly and listening actively across languages and cultures.
Embracing innovative thinking and artistic expression in all areas of learning.
Analyzing information, solving problems, and making informed decisions.
