3D Reservoir Characterization

A 5-days short course provided in a classroom with theory and hands on practice with Eva Peza

starts: 07/11 10:30 AM

This class informs about the techniques and strategies to integrate all data together for the 3D Modeling of the reservoirs. Further these models are used to predict reservoir behavior and also for reserve calculations and field development planning. Through this course, the participants will have hands on Petrel experience.

Lecture and Discussions Topics:

• The basic principles of gravity and magnetic methods
• Gravity and magnetic data acquisition
• Reduction of gravity data
• Understanding of the geoid
• Understanding of the principles of isostasy and isostatic compensation
• Application of different mathematical filters for the enhancement of gravity and magnetic data
• Interpretation of gravity and magnetic data
• Case studies in oil and gas and mineral exploration
