KENYA SAFARIS

Kenya is where the safari was born — a land of sweeping savannahs, dramatic landscapes, and unparalleled wildlife encounters. From the world-famous Masai Mara, where the Great Migration unfolds in breathtaking fashion, to the elephant-studded plains of Amboseli beneath Mount Kilimanjaro, Kenya offers some of the most iconic and diverse safari experiences on the continent.

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

SAMBURU NATIONAL GAME RESERVE

The arid region of Samburu lies in the north of Kenya and is home to the pastoralist Samburu people, cousins of the Maasai. It’s a wilderness of desert scrub and savannah with unique wildlife species only found north of the equator. These include Beisa oryx, reticulated, giraffe, thin-striped Grevy’s zebra, and the ‘giraffe-necked’ gerenuk antelope. There are also elephant, buffalo, lion and leopard, along with over 400 bird species.

ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK

In central Kenya, Aberdares is a volcanic mountain range characterized by dense forests, deep ravines, clear streams and waterfalls. The range forms the eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley and is an important water catchment in the 766km² park.

TSAVO NATIONAL PARK

Tsavo East and Tsavo West combine to form Kenya’s largest park at over 21 000km². Divided by the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, the park is the midpoint between these two cities. It’s renowned for its volcanic hills and abundant animal and plant species. While Tsavo West is the most developed and has a volcanic landscape, Tsavo East has large herds of elephant. There are waterfalls and springs to see, and an underwater observation area from which to watch crocodile, hippo and fish

Whether you're tracking the Big Five, marveling at a lion hunt, or witnessing thousands of flamingos painting a lake pink, every moment on a Kenyan safari is pure magic. Add in rich cultural traditions and world-class lodges, and it’s easy to see why Kenya remains a bucket-list destination for adventurers and nature lovers alike.
