TapLingo ("we", "our", or "the app") is a translation keyboard app developed by Kamagram. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use TapLingo on iOS and Android.

Information We Collect

Account Information

  • If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier. Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your real email.
  • If you use the app without signing in, we generate an anonymous device identifier.

Translation Data

Text you type is sent to our servers for translation. We do not store the content of your translations permanently. Translated text may be cached temporarily (up to 24 hours) to improve performance and reduce redundant API calls.

Usage Data

  • We track daily translation counts to manage free tier quotas. This data is stored as a count only, not the content of translations.
  • We collect basic usage metrics such as last login time and account creation date.

Keyboard Input

TapLingo requires Full Access to send text to our translation servers. We only transmit text when the translation feature is active. We do not log, store, or sell your keystrokes.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide real-time translation services
  • To manage your account and subscription
  • To enforce daily translation quotas for free users
  • To improve app performance through translation caching

Data Storage and Security

  • Account data is stored on secure servers hosted on Heroku with Redis.
  • All data transmission between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
  • We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties.

Subscriptions

  • TapLingo Pro is available as a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's account settings.

Third-Party Services

  • OpenAI — We use OpenAI's API to process translations. Text sent for translation is processed according to OpenAI's usage policies. We do not send personal account information to OpenAI.
  • Apple Sign In / Google Sign In — Used for authentication. Subject to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

TapLingo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Home screen (tap the menu icon on your profile, then "Delete Account"). Account deletion is immediate and permanent.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
