These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the AgroNorm mobile apps and backend service operated by Kamagram ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the apps, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use AgroNorm.

1. What AgroNorm is

AgroNorm is a mobile app + cloud service that helps small-scale farmers:

• Log farm activities (planting, harvest, fertilization, etc.) with dates, amounts, locations, and photos
• Draw and store the boundary of their farm
• Ask an AI assistant questions about farming in English, French, or Kinyarwanda, including questions illustrated with a photo
• Browse a curated knowledge base of farming guidance, available offline

AgroNorm is a record-keeping and information tool. It is not a financial product, an extension service, a government program, or a substitute for an agronomist or veterinarian.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your country) to create an AgroNorm account. By signing up you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your account

3.1 Approval gate

When you sign up, your account is created in a pending state. An AgroNorm administrator reviews each new signup. You cannot log farm activity or chat with the AI until your account is approved. Approval is at our discretion. We may decline accounts that appear to be spam, duplicates, fraudulent, or outside our intended user community.

3.2 Your responsibilities

• Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
• Use a real email address you can receive mail at — we use it for account recovery, security notices, and (rarely) policy updates.
• Tell us promptly at agronorm@kamagram.com if you suspect someone else has accessed your account.

3.3 One person, one account

Each account should represent one farmer (or one farming operation). Don't share an account with people outside your household; don't create multiple accounts to evade suspension.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use AgroNorm for any illegal purpose
• Try to break into other farmers' accounts or the server
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the AgroNorm apps or APIs
• Upload content that infringes someone else's copyright, depicts illegal activity, or contains other people's personal data without their consent
• Abuse the AI assistant — automated traffic, attempts to extract prompts or system instructions, attempts to make the AI generate harmful content
• Resell access to your account or to AgroNorm features

We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, and to remove specific farm logs, chat messages, or knowledge items that violate them.

5. The AI assistant — important disclaimer

The AI assistant generates suggestions based on patterns it learned from a large body of public text. It is useful for general guidance, common pests and diseases, fertilizer rules of thumb, planting seasons, and similar reference questions.

In particular:

• Don't use AI suggestions as the sole basis for buying or applying pesticides, herbicides, or veterinary medicines. Read product labels, follow local regulations, and consult a qualified professional for anything that goes on your crops or animals.
• AI answers can be out of date for prices, varieties, regulations, weather, and any time-sensitive topic.
• AI answers can be wrong, incomplete, or generic. We tune the AI to use your farm context where helpful, but it doesn't see your farm directly.
• If an AI answer contradicts a professional agronomist, your agricultural extension officer, a product label, or local regulation — trust the professional source, not the AI.

Photos you attach to AI questions are sent to our AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) for analysis, then discarded. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the farm logs, photos, chat questions, and other content you create in AgroNorm ("Your Content").

By using AgroNorm you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to:

• Store Your Content on our servers so the apps can show it back to you and to authorized administrators
• Send chat questions (and any attached photo) to OpenAI / Anthropic to generate a response, as described in the Privacy Policy
• Use anonymized, aggregated statistics about Your Content to improve AgroNorm (e.g. "X% of users log irrigation activities in May")

We will not:

• Sell Your Content
• Train any AI model on Your Content
• Publish or share Your Content with other farmers without your explicit consent

If you delete a farm log, chat message, or your entire account, we remove the corresponding rows from our database within 30 days, except for backups and audit logs that may persist for up to 90 days.

7. Knowledge base

AgroNorm ships with a curated knowledge base of farming guidance sourced from public agricultural institutions (Rwanda Agriculture Board, FAO, CABI, etc.). Knowledge items are attributed by source where shown. The knowledge base is provided as-is for educational purposes; we do our best to keep it accurate but cannot guarantee that every snippet reflects current best practice.

8. Pricing

AgroNorm is currently free to use for individual farmers. We may introduce paid tiers in the future; if so, we will notify approved farmers at least 30 days in advance and any existing data and features you have access to will remain available under at least the free tier for an additional 30 days.

9. Service availability

We aim for high availability but make no specific uptime guarantee. The apps work in a degraded "offline" mode (knowledge base lookup only) when your phone has no internet connection. We may need to take the service down briefly for maintenance.

10. Termination

10.1 By you

You can delete your AgroNorm account at any time by emailing agronorm@kamagram.com. Logging out without requesting deletion preserves your data so you can sign back in later.

10.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you've broken these Terms, if your account has been inactive for more than 24 months, or if we discontinue the service. Where possible, we'll give you 30 days' notice and an opportunity to export your data.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

AgroNorm is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Kamagram nor anyone acting on our behalf will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of AgroNorm — including crop losses, livestock losses, missed market opportunities, or any loss attributable to acting on AI suggestions or knowledge-base content.

Where law does not permit such a disclaimer, our aggregate liability for any claim related to AgroNorm is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (which, while the service is free, is zero).

13. Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms materially, we'll bump the Effective date at the top, post the new version in the app and on this URL, and notify approved farmers by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use AgroNorm after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any dispute that we cannot resolve by good-faith email exchange shall be brought before the competent courts of Kigali.

This document is written to be plain and accurate. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by counsel. If you operate AgroNorm in a jurisdiction with stricter consumer-protection or data-protection requirements, those requirements take precedence.
