Sedimentology and Sequence Stratigraphy

A 5-day short course in a classroom with theory and hands on practice

starts: 07/11 10:30 AM

This class informs the participants about the formation of the sedimentary rocks in different depositional settings and the hydrocarbon potential of the sedimentary structures. It covers also the tools to be used to predict the petroleum systems components. This class offers a lot of examples from different data types and a hands on Petrel project.

Lecture and Discussions Topics:

• Depositional Environments
• Facies Associations
• Architectural elements
• Hydrocarbon Potential in different depositions Environments.
• Sequence Stratigraphy
• Biostratigraphy
• Core Descriptions
• Introduction to field trips
• Seismic Sequence Stratigraphy
